I was having so much trouble with my 2018 Toyota Carolla. The first auto shop I brought it to basically told me they can’t fix and I felt so defeated. I was recommended to this place and when I saw the reviews were so good I decided to give this place a try. The customer service was great, everyone was so kind. I told them the reason why I was bringing the car in was because my check engine light was on and when I put gas in my car the battery would die. This happened only when I would put gas in the car. Long story short they called me after I dropped my car off with a list of problems. There were things that the car needed internally and I asked if with all that stuff they do will the car be fixed. The guy assured me that it would be. I went and picked my car up later that day and not even a minute down the road my check engine light came back on after putting nearly $2,000 of work into the car. I called right away and turned around and brought my car back. Almost a whole day goes by and I hear nothing on my car so I call to check in and they were waiting for Toyota technical support to help them figure out what the problem is. Later that evening they called me to pick the car up. They admitted fault for not fixing the problem. They were rectifying the situation so they didn’t charge me for the work they did this time. A few weeks go by my car is fine and then one day my check engine light randomly comes on and then I get gas and my car won’t start. I’m so mentally drained at this point. I know this is Melrose and a lot of people are well off however I’m a 28 years old first generation college student I’m barely getting by. I called them to tell them it’s happening again and they guy didn’t sound to happy to hear from me. I made an appointment to bring my car back YET again. However, my intuition told me to take my car to the Toyota dealership to get looked at because I truly felt like at this point these people had no idea what they were doing and at this point I don’t trust them. I just got my car looked at Toyota, and they found the issue right away. I brought them both receipt receipts from this place of all the work I just got done on the car (Most was unnecessary, because it was never what was actually wrong with the car) Toyota showed me a detailed video and the part Certified Automotive Solutions put in my car was so used Toyota thought at first the part never got replaced. Then in the video, they get a closer look they did see the part did get replaced but it wasn’t put in properly. It was so devastating to me. I feel like Certified Automotive Solutions played on my ignorance and vulnerability. They knew how bad I needed my car fixed and I was open and trusting. They made really feel like I was making the right decision with trusting them with my car because they were very personable and being a small business and so kind and respectful I put my trust in them. Now thinking back and looking at the receipts, you can see how Certified Automotive Solutions really just used me to make a quick buck in the beginning. It states clearly on my receipts what I brought the car in for, and the receipt shows everything they did with my car other than fixed the problem I brought it in for. It wasn’t until the second time I brought the car back they actually pin pointed the true problem with the car. However, they didn’t charge me because they knew they were wrong but with in that they just threw it together and didn’t care. I know this is long, but I hope it helps someone when making the decision to go here. I paid more money at the dealership but I now know my car was done right and is officially fixed. I’m strongly considering taking legal action, I really think that is the only way this sad situation will rectified.
